Style John Boyega Admits He's Wearing 'Tracking Bottoms' During Golden Globes Acceptance Speech
A dad started a swimwear and clothing line for transgender girls inspired by his daughter
Toronto dad Jamie Alexander told Insider that after seeing the lack of swimsuits for transgender kids like his daughter, he launched his own brand.For years, Alexander watched as his now-12-year-old daughter struggled to find swimsuits that she felt comfortable wearing. He told Insider that Ruby, who transitioned when she was 9, often wore board shorts and sweatpants in place of traditional swimsuits, but at age 11, she expressed interest in wearing a bikini.

The actor admitted that he wasn't expecting to win during his acceptance speech for the award, sharing, "I'm so shocked."
"I thought it was gonna be one of them nights where ... you go to your bed and just chill," he joked, before lifting up his leg to show his pants. "I've got Balenciagas, guys. I've got tracking bottoms on my bottoms that I'm comfortable [in], but this is exciting."

Boyega plays a real-life social justice hero in Red, White and Blue, part of director McQueen's Small Axe anthology on Amazon Prime Video about Black history in Britain. Boyega met with the man he plays, pioneering London police officer Leroy Logan.

The 78th Annual Golden Globes Awards are airing live on NBC from 5-8 p.m. PT/8-11 p.m. ET.
