Tiffany Haddish is hoping to start a family — but her journey to motherhood may not be a typical one. In a new interview, the 41-year-old Bad Trip star shared that she is taking steps to adopt a child because she doesn't expect to get pregnant herself. She also made the surprising confession that she sold some of her eggs for money when she was 21 and that she's not looking to go through any harvesting procedures again to try to conceive via IVF.

On Monday, Tiffany told E!'s 'Daily Pop' that she's on a mission to become a mom

And she said she's hoping to make it happen [through adoption](https://people.com/parents/tiffany-haddish-explains-why-surrogacy-process-is-not-right-for-her/). To prepare herself, the actress — who is in a relationship with rapper Common — is currently taking classes to learn the basics of parenting.

"I'm taking classes now so I can adopt," she said (via People), before explaining more about her plans. "I'm looking at (ages) 5 and up — really like 7. I want them to be able to use the restroom on their own and talk. I want them to know that I put in the work and I wanted them."

(The latter Asian-owned brand released a ring that donates 50 percent of its proceeds to nonprofits, like the Asian-American Legal Defense Fund and Stop AAPI Hate.) New York City-based brand, Keane, also makes these thick, bulbous-like designs using hand-blown glass that almost resemble candy.

She said it would be "a miracle" if she were to get pregnant and have a biological child

She explained — a bit cryptically — that she has "taken the precautions" to make sure it doesn't happen. "Let me tell you, if I get pregnant that is all God tearing down all walls, all barriers," she said. "I have definitely taken the precautions to protect me. If that s--- does happen, we're going to hire some help, then we're gonna cry a lot. And I'm not gonna be baby mama — I'm gonna be wife."

She also got candid about selling her eggs when she was younger

"I already gave up — here comes something everybody don't know — when I was 21, I was really hard up for money and I gave up a bunch of eggs," she said. "So who knows, I might got some kids out here in these streets. I doubt it, though, because I never got the bonus. Maybe somewhere though, in cryo somewhere!"

After those past experiences of having her eggs harvested, Tiffany is now set against surrogacy.

The GQ Guide to Watches For Men

The GQ Guide to Watches For Men Our definitive guide to the wild world of watches, from the terms to know to the best ways to actually buy your next one.But it’s also for precisely those reasons that buying a watch can feel harder than it’s ever been. How am I supposed to choose between a Datejust and a Speedmaster? What counts as a good investment? Do I really need to know the difference between quartz and mechanical watches? For the beginner, it can often seem like there’s just too much information about years and references and movements to make a smart call.

"I don't wanna pay nobody to carry my baby neither, because then I have to go through a process of getting myself injections and all that stuff," she explained.

Tiffany has spoken openly in the past about her own difficult childhood and spending time in the foster care system

She lived in foster homes in Los Angeles [from the age of 12 to 15](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-9539145/Tiffany-Haddish-41-reveals-surrogacy-not-sold-eggs-21.html) before her grandmother stepped in to raise her. "It was the worst feeling in the world. You're dropped in these strangers' houses, you don't know these people, these people don't know you, you don't know if they're gonna hurt you, if they're gonna be kind, you don't have a clue what's going on," she previously said of the experience (via the *Daily Mail*).

Now she hopes to give another kid a happier, more secure childhood

During a November 2020 episode of Common's *Mind Power Mixtape* podcast, Tiffany said she wants to raise any children she might adopt in the future to be strong and resilient so they can face whatever comes their way.

"I just want to bring to them survival skills, share everything that I know with them," she said, explaining why she has a specific age range in mind for adoption. "Between 6 and 10, get them right in there, because you can mold their mind. They're still malleable in a lot of ways until they're 21 — that's what I think."
