Someone's Suing an Airline for Serving Sparkling Wine Instead of Champagne

Someone's Suing an Airline for Serving Sparkling Wine Instead of Champagne He's demanding compensation for the difference in costWhen Daniel Macduff booked a February flight with budget Canadian airline Sunwing to Cuba, he had one detail in mind, and he didn't care how stupid he looked while getting it: the "complimentary on-board Champagne toast" that was advertised on the airline's site. But when he received sparkling white wine in a plastic cup, Macduff knew he needed to stand up, take charge, and change the world by suing the hell out of them.

According to a report from travel intelligence firm OAG, which analyzed 57 million flight records from 2017, Latvia's airBaltic is the world ’ s most punctual airline , with an on - time performance (OTP) of 90.01 percent.

The number one airline , which is based in Japan, operates slightly better than 90 percent of its flights on time . American Airlines , which just announced a merger with US Airways , had about 77 percent of its 2012 arrivals land on time , FlightStats said.

Flight delays have a way of testing even the most even-keeled traveler’s patience. After all, there’s little you can do about an aircraft that’s three hours late, an ambiguous mechanical issue, or a thunderstorm that’s parked itself over the runway—besides wish you were headed to a tropical beach, that is.

According to a report from travel intelligence firm OAG, which analyzed 57 million flight records from 2017, Latvia's airBaltic is the world’s most punctual airline, with an on-time performance (OTP) of 90.01 percent. (To qualify, flights must arrive or depart within 14 minutes and 59 seconds minutes of their scheduled time.) Other on-time carriers: Hong Kong Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Copa, and Qantas, which round out the top five. Even better? Qantas made our list of the top 20 airlines in the 2017 Reader’s Choice Awards; the Australian airline, along with Hawaiian Airlines, was also recently ranked one of the safest airlines in the world.

Which airline is the cheapest? Here's the answer

Which airline is the cheapest? Here's the answer There’s a simple trick to finding the cheapest airline every time you shop. Which airline is the cheapest? Easy: All of them. Wait, let me rephrase that: Any airline can be the cheapest, depending where and when you fly, and there’s a simple trick to finding the cheapes Aren’t the ultra-discounters always cheapest?Allegiant, Frontier and Spirit often have dirt-cheap fares — don’t feel bad for them; they make lots of money on everything from bag fees to soft drinks and seat selection — but they are not always the cheapest.

Though that was spread over 103,344 flights in the world ’ s busiest passenger market. By comparison, Delta, which has the most scheduled flights of any airline in the world (156,865) maintained a respectable on - time performance of 85.21%, but average delays stretched to 54.41

Being on - time is a nice feature in an airline . Late flights are easily one of the most annoying parts of traveling. So, knowing which airlines will get you where you're going at the promised time is no small thing. Meanwhile, Iberia was crowned the world ' s most on - time global network.

In addition to being highly punctual, many of the ranked airlines are also LCCs, or low cost carriers. "This year, six of the Top 20 airlines are LCCs, up from four last year and two in 2015," said OAG. In other words? You won't have to break your bank to arrive on time.
