Get excited because the U.S. Travel Association’s five-week Daily Getaways promotion is officially back!

After a hiatus caused by the pandemic, the deals have returned and, according to USTA, can save travelers up to 60%. This year, most of the promotions appear to be hotel-related. You can already look at the offers you may be interested in, and keep in mind the promotion lasts until Oct. 20.

Like many deals, the Daily Getaways are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Some are extremely popular and may sell out in a matter of seconds. Also, you’ll want to be confident about your travel plans because these deals are also nonrefundable. Here’s what we know so far.

USTA kicked off the promotions with Hilton and Hyatt buy points promotions. The latest promotions, available on Oct. 14 and 15, are from Omni and Accor, respectively. These aren’t buy points promotions, but rather promotions where you can score deals on gift certificates to use at specific properties.

The Omni deals include a two-night weekend getaway for $175 (30 deals available), a two-night weekend escape for $275 (41 deals available), a two-night stay at Omni Hotels & Resorts for $335 (38 deals available) and a one-night stay at Omni Hotels & Resorts for $235 (15 deals available).

Amazon Just Released Tons of Early Black Friday Deals—These Are the Best Ones

Amazon Just Released Tons of Early Black Friday Deals—These Are the Best Ones Just ahead of the holidays, Amazon has just released tons of early Black Friday deals, meaning eagle-eyed shoppers ca n get a head start on holiday shopping. While this is great for those looking to save a few dollars on big purchases, there’s also a practical aspect: shipping delays. Amazon is actively encouraging consumers to shop early so that they can get the items they want and their packages on time—and they’re not wrong.

To see whether or not these deals are actually a good value, we took a closer look at the fine print on some of the deals.

The two-night weekend getaway is only available for Friday or Saturday check-in. It is eligible at the Omni Charlottesville in Virginia, the Omni Houston Hotel, the Omni Severin Hotel in Indianapolis and the Omni Providence Hotel in Rhode Island through Dec. 30, 2022.

For a $175 charge, Omni values the weekend stays for a standard room at $88 per night.

I took a look at each hotel’s pricing and availability through next summer, and nearly every hotel was averaging well over $200 per night for weekend dates, with the lone exception being the Omni Providence, which still cost around $150 per night for February dates. If you frequent those areas and stay at Omni Hotels, this is a solid deal that can save you at least half on your reservation.

The $275 two-night weekend escape deal is valid for a standard room for Friday or Saturday check-in through Dec. 30, 2022, at the following locations only:

At $275 for two nights, that works out to $138 a night. Many of the hotels on the list I looked at had nightly rates that were double the price, so I’d consider this a good deal.

Start Planning for the Best Black Friday Fashion Deals

Start Planning for the Best Black Friday Fashion Deals The year's best deals will be here soon.Whether you'll hunt for seasonal wardrobe essentials, hard-to-find designer handbags, or the best of the best Amazon finds this year, you'll want to be prepared for the 2021 sales extravaganza. (Reminder: Black Friday falls on November 26, followed by Cyber Monday on November 29.

For the New York deal, you’ll receive four Ovation Rewards certificates, each redeemable at Sofitel New York for a one-night stay for two in a one-bedroom suite, including breakfast. Taxes, gratuities and resort fees are included.

This deal, in my opinion, could definitely confer a good value to travelers interested in a New York City trip. At $1,000 for four certificates, each night is worth $250. I checked out a few dates in March 2022, and the cheapest suite with breakfast included was $420. With a certificate, you can score a one-bedroom suite and breakfast for just $250.

And according to the Daily Getaways page, the Ovation Rewards certificates don’t expire and are good “anytime,” meaning you could squirrel these away for peak travel dates when New York City hotel rooms can be astronomically expensive.

You can see the full list of which travel companies participating in future deals below:

  • Best Western deals on Oct. 18
  • The Venetian Resort deals on Oct. 19
  • Marriott deals on Oct. 20

If you’re interested in any forthcoming deals, register here and preview all deals through Oct. 20 here. And keep in mind some past deals may still be available, so consider looking through previous promotions if you’re interested in a deal from a different brand.

How to buy

What credit card should I use for Daily Getaways?

In the past, Daily Getaways purchases have coded as general travel, which means you’ll want to use a credit card that has a category bonus for general travel such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve (3x Ultimate Rewards points) or Ink Business Preferred Credit Card (3x Ultimate Rewards points; on the first $150,000 in combined purchases each account anniversary; then 1x), or the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card (2x points).

SPONSORED: With states reopening, enjoying a meal from a restaurant no longer just means curbside pickup.

And when you do spend on dining, you should use a credit card that will maximize your rewards and potentially even score special discounts. Thanks to temporary card bonuses and changes due to coronavirus, you may even be able to score a meal at your favorite restaurant for free.

These are the best credit cards for dining out, taking out, and ordering in to maximize every meal purchase.
