Charges unlikely against Gaetz in federal sex-trafficking probe Federal authorities began investigating the Florida Republican in late 2020.Federal prosecutors and the FBI began investigating Gaetz in late 2020 during the Trump administration over potential sex trafficking crimes related to allegations he’d paid women for sex and traveled overseas on at least one occasion to parties attended by teenagers who were not yet 18.

Disgraced singer R. Kelly has been ordered to pay more than $300,000 in restitution to some of the victims of his sex trafficking and racketeering scheme.

A federal judge in New York made the ruling at a hearing Wednesday, ordering Kelly to pay $300,668.18 in restitution to a victim identified as Jane and $8,400 to another victim identified as Stephanie.

According to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, the money will compensate Jane and Stephanie for the costs of therapy and herpes treatment. A third victim, identified as Sonja, was denied restitution.

Kelly is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence after being convicted for a decadeslong scheme of grooming girls and young women and using his stardom and wealth to lure them for sex.

Earlier this month, Kelly was also found guilty on separate child pornography charges by a federal jury in Chicago.

Sentencing for that case is scheduled for February 23, 2023.

Police in Stockton, California, released surveillance video of a person they say they want to speak to about five killings in the city and one in nearby Oakland. Investigators released the video hoping someone will be able to identify the person of interest. Police say the person was seen on surveillance video obtained during the investigation that matches the description given to them by a surviving victim from a shooting last year.
