A jury has sentenced a former Houston medical resident to life imprisonment for plotting the deaths of his ex-girlfriend and his new girlfriend's ex-husband.The Harris County jury in Houston deliberated just over an hour Monday before coming back with the maximum sentence for 40-year-old Leon Philip Jacob. That's after finding him guilty Friday of capital murder solicitation.

Antoine R. Fielder has been charged in connection with the Dec. 26th homicide of Rosemarie Harmon in Kansas City, Missouri.
Harmon's body was found near 6th and Spruce after she had been shot on the street. Another man was also shot during that incident. Fielder is also charged with assault in his shooting, which Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker called an "almost murder".
Court documents show surveillance video captured most of that shooting.

The murder is in connection to a Dec. 26, 2017 shooting in Kansas City, Missouri in the 600 block of Spruce Avenue. Prosecutors say Fielder shot and killed Rosemarie KCK police recovered a 9mm handgun beneath the driver’s seat of the car Fielder was driving when they arrested him for the robbery.
Fielder was released from custody in Wyandotte County after a mistrial in the murder of an Overland Park woman.
Kelsey Ewonus, an Overland Park mother, was found shot to death in a car in Kansas City, Kansas in July 2015.
Fielder had been charged in connection with the death of Ewonus, but jurors could not reach a verdict in two separate trials for the case. Prosecutors then dismissed the murder charge against him on September 29th.
Fielder was released from custody a short time later. Rosemarie Harmon was killed in December.
He is also charged with aggravated robbery, robbery, criminal possession of a firearm, aggravated intimidation of a witness, and intimidation of a witness in Wyandotte County, Kansas. He is set for a jury trial on July 30th in this case.
Fielder is being held in the Jackson County Jail on a $500,000 cash only bond.

Police say a former nurse who was fired last month from a Texas hospital has been charged with murder in the death of a patient last year. Tyler police chief Jimmy Toler said Wednesday that William George Davis is being investigated in six other cases in which patients were injured and will likely be charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault. The 34-year-old Davis is being held on a $2 million bond.
