Santa Barbara County, California sheriff's office releases new details in bloody murders Though the details are still unclear, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office did release some new information this week regarding a bloody triple homicide in Orcutt on Friday night, in which suspect David McNabb allegedly murdered his sister and mother, as well as their roommate, before being shot by deputies.

Triple murder suspect Andres “Andy” Avalos has been caught in Florida after allegedly killing his wife , pastor and neighbor Thursday. His death sent deputies to his Bradenton home where they found both his wife 's and Potter's bodies. The couple had been married for 15 years , records show.

During a Tuesday afternoon news conference, Chief Deputy Jeff Harrington confirmed her death also was caused by blunt force trauma, and that she may have been dead for up to a year.

Svensen, 25, who also goes by Shelby Nealy, was found in Ohio with Laura Ivancic's stolen SUV. He was arrested by local authorities and faces at least three first-degree murder charges in the deaths. Police have not said if he is a suspect in his wife's disappearance but investigators said information Svensen provided led them to the home in Port Richey.

Mike Ivancic called the crime scene a "gruesome mess" but declined to comment further about the victims' injuries.

Svensen is expected to be extradited soon for an arraignment in Florida later this month, Mike Ivancic said.

Svensen's ex-wife Kaitlyn Farahay told the Times last week that he stopped by her home on Christmas Eve - four or five days after the slayings in Tarpon Springs - to drop off books for their 6-year-old daughter. Farahay said Svensen had mentioned his in-laws once, saying he "hated the brother and the parents are mean to him or something."

Mike Ivancic told the Times, "The details that are continuing to come out really shed light on how messed up Shelby was and what he was thinking."

Florida school shooting suspect due back in court.
Florida school shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz is due back in court for more motions from defense lawyers. Cruz's lawyers want Circuit Judge Elizabeth Scherer on Friday to hold the Broward Sheriff's Office in contempt of court for improperly providing the suspect's medical records to a state commission investigating the shooting. They say only certain authorized investigators and prosecutors should get access to such records in a criminal case, and the commission is not included. The 20-year-old Cruz faces the death penalty if convicted in the Valentine's Day shooting that killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
