Woman dead after being hit by NY school bus A yellow school bus mowed down a woman on a Bronx street and left her to die Thursday, police said. The 68-year-old woman was crossing Story Ave. near Havemeyer Ave. in Unionport when the bus barreled into her about 9:50 a.m., witnesses told police. The driver took off, cops said. The woman was in the crosswalk she she was hit. She was rushed her to Jacobi Medical Center, where she died, authorities said. The search continues for the bus and its driver.

Where's the beef?

New York police are seeking help to identify a woman they say slugged out the windows of a Bronx restaurant when it didn't have beef patties.

The incident last month began when the unknown suspect entered Back Home Restaurant, a Jamaican and American eatery, and ordered a beef patty with cheese, police said Saturday.

"The individual was informed that there were no beef patties in stock at which time the unknown individual became irate," police said in a statement.

That's when she walked out and broke the restaurant's window and glass front door with an aluminum baseball bat, police say.

Police say there were no injuries.
