A 48-year-old Greenville man who stole cigarettes from the same gas station twice in one week pleaded guilty and was sentenced Wednesday.

Michael Lamont Jones went into the Exxon Kangaroo on Haywood Road on Jan. 18, 2018, got behind the counter and threatened the clerk that he was armed. He stole more than $4,000 worth of cigarettes, prosecutors said. Investigators said he had committed a similar robbery at the same gas station five days before.

Jones also pleaded guilty to three counts of shoplifting.

He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the strong-arm robberies and 10 years each for shoplifting, to be served concurrently.
