Homeless man killed by train at Grand Central Station; third person to die on the rails this week A homeless man walking in the tunnels at Grand Central Station died early Saturday after being struck by the Times Square shuttle, officials said, becoming the third person to be fatally hit by an MTA train this week. The victim was struck at about 11:30 p.m. Friday. Medics rushed him to Bellevue Hospital where he died. His name was not immediately disclosed. At least six people have been hit by city trains this week. At about 5 a.m. Friday, a 60-year-old homeless man was struck and killed by a No. 4 train in Gramercy after he was seen scrambling to get back onto the platform at the 28th St. station.

A driver who struck and killed a Rumpke trash collector has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Brian Jankovich, 41, was sentenced on a charges of aggravated vehicular homicide in connection to the July 30, 2018 death of David Evans.

The State Highway Patrol has said that the 52-year-old Evans was collecting trash in Middletown and was at the back of the Rumpke truck when Jankovich's pickup hit him, pinning him between the vehicles.

Evans was pronounced dead at a hospital.

An initial investigation indicated that the Rumpke truck had all safety lights active and working at the time of the accident, officials said.

An man is dead after a vehicle struck him in Upper Marlboro on Sunday. Maryland State Police Troopers responded to a call at Southbound Route 301 and Rosaryville Road just before 5:40 am Sunday.
