A Greenville man who stabbed his mother to death before carjacking his neighbor's vehicle in 2017 was sentenced to 35 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

Christopher Lee Oliver, 45, pleaded guilty Thursday to multiple charges stemming from the June 17, 2017, stabbing and carjacking, according to a press release from the 13th Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office.

Greenville County Sheriff's Office deputies went to Hartwick Lane in Greenville County where a carjacking was reported, the release stated. The victims said their vehicle was stolen as they pulled into the driveway of their home, according to the solicitor's office.
