One In Custody After Whitney Young Teacher Carjacked At Gunpoint In Staff Parking Lot One person was in custody Wednesday morning in connection with the armed carjacking of a teacher at Whitney Young Magnet High School. School officials said the teacher was sitting in her car in the staff parking lot around 8 a.m. Tuesday, when a male teenager walked up, claiming he was “being chased and needed help.” Police said the teen got into the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle, pulled out a gun, and demanded the teacher’s purse, phone, and car. The teacher handed over her phone and purse, and got out of the car, and the robber drove away. The teacher was not harmed.

It was an angry whisper, touching on rage. Scott was one of three charged Monday in Zyszkiewicz's homicide last week during an attempted carjacking . Zyszkiewicz, 64, was on duty Wednesday as a building inspector for the Department of Neighborhood Services when he was found dead in his car

One of the teens pointed a gun.

Vang’s family said he served in Laos helping U.S. troops during the Vietnam War.

“During the war he’s killed before,” Yimleej said. “For these kids to come up, he wasn’t phased about it.”
