Blair Brown accused of pointing gun at woman, threatening to kill her The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released an incident report Thursday afternoon that shed more light on Blair Brown’s arrest a day earlier. Michael DiRocco of ESPN reports that Brown stands accused of pointing a gun at a woman and threatening to kill her. The woman claims Brown pushed her to the ground, kicked her in the abdomen, and punched her in the face during an argument around 4 a.m. ET on April 28, per the report obtained by DiRocco. She added, according to the report, that as Brown was leaving the home, he removed two firearms from a garage safe before she locked the door behind him.

A Swannanoa man has been indicted by a grand jury on charges he attempted to kill a Candler woman with a knife and by lighting her on fire.

Luis Alberto Cortes, 38, faces two felony charges for malicious injury by use of explosive or incendiary device and assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill, according to court documents.

According to the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, Cortes allegedly poured “some type of flammable liquid” on the victim in an incident on Dec. 4.

The sheriff’s office confirmed this is a case of domestic violence.

Cortes will also appear in Superior Court for felony attempted first-degree arson on June 12.

SCHENECTADY, N .Y. — A man who killed his wife by dousing her with gasoline and setting her on fire during an argument has pleaded guilty to murder. Officials say 48-year-old Elizabeth Gonzales was airlifted to a hospital after she ran screaming from her Schenectady home in flames in March.

Woman rescued after spending night on side of Placer County cliff.
A woman was rescued from the side of a cliff in Placer County after her SUV went over the ridge and she spent the night in the wilderness, officials said. The woman called 911 Friday morning, saying her SUV went over a cliff near westbound Interstate 80 and Blue Canyon Road, Cal Fire said. Her SUV went off the road sometime Thursday night.
