Girl loses 'one leg above the knee' in North Carolina shark attack, father punched fish 5 times A teenage girl who lost part of her leg and suffered severe hand injuries after a shark attack at a North Carolina beach Sunday was freed from the fish's jaws when her father jumped into the fray and began beating the sharp-toothed terror. Investigators say it all started after 21-year- old Kenta Evans, the baby’s possible father , got into an argument with the baby's mother. Evans admitted to the altercation with McNeal and to causing injuries by punching the baby, according to the criminal complaint.

An infant is on life support after police said the child's father admitted to harming the child.

According to an arrest slip, Donnie Rowe, 28, provided detectives with a Mirandized statement in which he admitted to inflicting severe injuries on his 2-month-old.

Officials said the infant has been receiving medical treatment since Saturday for multiple skull fractures, retinal hemorrhages and several other documented injuries that are consistent with abusive head trauma.

The arrest slip said the infant is currently on life support and it's unknown if he will survive the injuries.
