A 19-year-old man’s feud with a cabbie led to his arrest in the slaying last November of a resident of the Sumner Houses housing project in Brooklyn, police said Saturday.

Lamique Haynie was charged in the shooting death of Theodore Smith, 29.

Smith’s girlfriend found him shot in his apartment at 896 Park Ave. in the Bedford-Stuyvesant project on Nov. 12. Smith was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, but could not be saved.

At the time, investigators believed that Smith was arguing with someone before he was shot twice in the head, said a police source.

Haynie was arrested early Thursday after he got into an altercation with a taxi driver who believed Haynie was trying to steal his belongings, said a police source.

Haynie spit on an officer who saw the dispute, and then pointed at cops as if he was going to shoot, the source said.

After Haynie was in custody, police realized he was wanted for Smith’s murder.

At a hearing in Brooklyn Criminlal Court on Saturday, Haynie was ordered held without bail.
