TAYLORSVILLE, Ky. – A man was killed and three other people were rescued Monday morning after attempting to drive across a flooded bridge just outside of Louisville.

The Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Department received a call for a water rescue just after 1:30 a.m., according to a Facebook post from the department. A vehicle with four people in it – two adults and two children – had attempted to cross over a bridge, which was covered in water and had no railings.

An adult woman who was hanging on to a tree branch downstream was rescued by using a throwbag, according to TSCFD, while the two children were found further downstream.

Authorities continued to search for the missing man through the morning before his body was found, Spencer County Sheriff's Office officials said Monday. Jorge Luis Cantu Jr., 40, from Shelbyville, was found dead.
