RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A man died after shot multiple times in Randolph County Sunday night, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office

At about 4:29 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a gunshot and assault at an abandoned lot at 525 Booker T. Washington Ave. in Asheboro.

Ondra Martinelli Gladden, Jr., 24, of Asheboro, was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Gladden died shortly after getting to the emergency room.

Detectives are investigating the case as a homicide.

This shooting took place about half a mile away from another shooting just hours earlier.

Brian Anthony Lee, 18, was found dead in a car in the Coleridge Road Apartments parking lot at 11:41 a.m. Sunday.

Man buries friend’s body at construction site after she dies at his home, deputies say A man buried his friend’s body at a construction site after she died at his home, according to Lt. Andy Manis of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office. Brooke Mashay Tollie, 24, was reported missing on May 13. Her remains were uncovered June 5 at a construction site in the Golden Valley community of Bostic in Rutherford County. Manis said Norris Lewis Westall, 46, and Tollie were at Westall’s home on May 13 and 14 when Tollie died. He said Westall took Tollie’s body to the construction site, an area he was familiar with, and buried her. Westall is charged with concealment of human remains.

He had been shot multiple times . The man , who was in his 40s, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He has not been publicly identified, but police believe he worked at the business near where he was found. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Grant Gildon at 817-459-5691.

An 81-year-old man was killed and his son was shot multiple times at a Grant County home early Sunday morning. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was called to a home in the 1100 block of South 4th Avenue in Jonesboro just after Midnight after a woman called and said her son had been shot .

Law enforcement has not confirmed if the two incidents are connected.

An off-duty Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputy was shot confronting a 16-year-old male breaking into the deputy's personal vehicle at his residence on the South Side, Sheriff Javier Salazar said. The deputy was in his home on the 300 block of Bustillos Drive about 7:30 a.m. when a family member alerted him that someone was inside his vehicle. The unidentified deputy attempted to take the juvenile into custody when the teen pulled a "small caliber handgun" and shot the deputy once in the abdomen, Salazar said. Though shot, the deputy managed hold on to the suspect until San Antonio police arrived, according to Salazar.
