Two killed in head-on Fremont Township crash Two people were killed Saturday night in a three-vehicle, head-on crash in Fremont Township along Fairfield Road, north of Route 60. Shortly after 9 p.m., Lake County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched and determined a Ford E350 driven by a 51-year-old Round Lake Beach man had been traveling southbound on Fairfield Road, north of Route 60, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The driver of the Ford crossed the median into the northbound lanes and his vehicle struck the driver’s side of a northbound Honda Odyssey, driven by a 42-year-old Hainesville man. The Ford then struck a northbound Kia Forte, driven by a 56-year-old Ingleside woman of Ingleside, head-on.

The teenage girl shot and killed near a small town in northern Arizona as one of the men she was with was firing a gun "randomly," according to Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

According to YCSO, 19-year-old Johnathan Rice of Chino Valley was arrested and booked on second-degree murder.

YCSO said Rice and a group that included16-year-old Aneesa Williams drove to an area off Perkinsville Road east of Chino Valley. The group was there to party and drink alcohol, according to YCSO.

Rice was firing a revolver "randomly" and while firing the gun in the bed of a pickup truck, he fired a round that struck Williams in the head, YCSO said.

YCSO said an off-duty police officer "happened upon the scene," and was eventually able to contact YCSO. Williams was later pronounced dead at the scene.

YCOS said the investigation remains active.

A Florida man was arrested in El Dorado County on Wednesday for stalking charges. Sheriff’s detectives began their investigation Monday after the suspect, Donald Martin, made credible and serious threats against the victim’s life, officials said. Officials said Martin drove to El Dorado County from Florida to carry out his threats, and detectives had been tracking Martin overnight. Martin thought he would be meeting with the victim on Wednesday, but instead was met by sheriff’s detectives and taken into custody, officials said. The Sheriff’s Office said he had a loaded firearm in his pocket when he was arrested.
