The intersection of 60th Street and Capitol Drive, where an off-duty Milwaukee police officer was killed early Tuesday morning, is one of the most dangerous in the city.

Less than 24 hours after a driver crashed into Officer Kou Her, there was a multi-vehicle pileup at the same location.

On April 14, a driver went through a red light there. One person was injured.

In March, a police chase ended in a crash there. One person was taken to a hospital.

City data from 2016 shows 60th Street and Capitol Drive had the eighth most crashes in Milwaukee, with 26 crashes that year.

The numbers show the danger that Kou Her's brother, Kong Her, and his family know too well.

"It felt like it was just a dream. We didn't believe it. We're like, this couldn't happen," Kong Her said.

Kou Her's family said he was on his normal route home when he was struck by a driver who had four OWIs and a revoked license.

Capitol Drive intersections make up five of the top 10 intersections with the most crashes in Milwaukee.
