Lower Price Hill shooting: One man dead A man was shot to death early Sunday morning in Lower Price Hill, police said. Shawn C. Hope, 39, was killed on Neave Street just before 3 a.m., according to investigators. Within nine hours, police said a suspect had been apprehended in the killing. Navonta Snow, 23, is charged with murder in connection to the death. Hope is the sixth person killed this month as gun violence has ramped up throughout the city. "There’s no question about it, we are in a very violent spike right now," Chief Eliot Isaac said during an interview Friday. He said many of the recent homicides don't appear to be connected.

Cincinnati Police have identified the man killed overnight in South Fairmount.

Police said Ramerise Abernathy, 18, was shot and killed in the 2500 block of Hansford Place.

Police were called to the scene at 1:42 a.m. Abernathy was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the 10th deadly shooting in the city in the past three weeks, according to police. It comes as Cincinnati sees an increase in shootings.

Cincinnati Public Schools said the victim was a CPS high school student. Abernathy attended Shroder Paideia High School, CPS officials said.

CPS has sent a crisis response team with social workers to the school to provide support to staff.

Man killed, 2 injured in overnight shooting in High Point.
HIGH POINT, N.C. — A man is dead and two other people are injured after a shooting in High Point overnight, according to police. At about 11:42 p.m., police responded to a report that someone was shot in the area of Habersham Road and Knoll Lane. Police found a 23-year-old High Point on the 700 block of Habersham Road suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the buttocks and thigh. After searching the area, officers found another victim, 25-year-old Ja'Kirius H. Staton, of High Point, sitting in the driver's seat of a silver sedan on the 600 block of Habersham Road. Staton had a gunshot wound to the torso.
