Hamden man charged with alleged stabbing HAMDEN — A town resident was arrested Wednesday after allegedly stabbing a 37-year-old Wallingford man and sending him to the hospital Tuesday evening. James Jansen, 35, of Towne House Road, was charged with first-degree assault, Capt. Ronald Smith said in a release. Police responded to Towne House Road at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday, finding the Wallingford man lying on the ground, suffering from two stab wounds, Smith said. “The victim had been stabbed on the forearm and wrist. Officers immediately rendered medical assistance. Hamden Fire Rescue responded and provided medical treatment.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s office on Monday announced Amanda Ramirez was charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter in the slaying of her 27-year-old twin sister, Anna Ramirez, over the weekend.

Police responded around 5:30 a.m. Saturday to reports of an unconscious person at the Centennial Village Apartments Complex in Camden, where they discovered Anna lying on the ground, bloody and injured. She was reportedly suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

Police Arrest Suspect In Stabbing Death Of Manhattan Bodega Worker Police say 18-year-old Jose Paniagua has been charged with murder, gang assault and possession of a weapon. Mohamed Awawdah, 28, was killed Wednesday night outside his family’s store on Dyckman Street in Inwood. Police said Awawdah was clearing the sidewalk in front of Dyckman Kwik Stop and asked a group of men, who were apparently loitering, to move away from the front of the store. A fight escalated until one man pushed a knife into Awawdah’s chest. Awawdah’s family told CBS2 he was married and had a second job as a livery cab driver.

The 27-year-old was rushed to Cooper University Hospital and pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Her twin, Amanda Ramirez, was arrested the same day and hit with a felony count, though officials only just revealed the charge on Monday. She’s being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing, prosecutors said.

Authorities have not revealed many details in the case, including a motive in the deadly stabbing.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
