Police investigate homicide in Southeast, DC

Police investigate homicide in Southeast, DC WASHINGTON -- D.C. police are investigating the homicide of a 22-year-old man. On Saturday around 3:20 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of K St., Southeast after receiving the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found an unconscious adult male with multiple gunshot wounds, a press release said. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the victim to a local hospital. Police said all life-saving efforts failed, and he was pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as George Hendrix, from Southeast, D.C. Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call them at (202) 727-9099.

The death has been ruled a homicide and no arrest has been made , said the prosecutor's office Chief of Detectives Robert Anzilotti. Four people were arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in Fairview Saturday night, authorities said.

Fairview police said their investigation was active until Monday night when the four suspects were arrested. The identities of the suspects and what they were charged with was not immediately available.

Police found the 23-year-old man dead in his apartment on Fourth Street around 8 p.m., according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office. His identity has not been released.

A neighbor who lived across the street from the scene said he and his wife heard what sounded like three gunshots around 6:45 p.m. while they were walking their dogs. The neighbor also told police he saw three unfamiliar people on the block while he was out walking.

Police continue to investigate a homicide at 63rd Street and South Benton Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri after a man's body was found. Police said someone discovered the body of a man on the sidewalk along 63rd Street around 5:45 a.m. Officers said the man had a wound to his side.
