Arrest made in missing Kentucky mother case after human remains found

Arrest made in missing Kentucky mother case after human remains found Kentucky State Police have made an arrest after finding human remains at a property in Garrard County, believed to be that of missing Richmond mother Savannah Spurlock. David Sparks was booked into jail early Thursday morning in Madison County. He's charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence. Authorities have been searching a home in Garrard County after receiving a tip Wednesday evening. Troopers say the discovery was made on the property of a potential suspect's family member. So far, the remains have not been positively identified. Medical examiners in Frankfort will perform an autopsy today to make that determination.

Family members previously told the Courier Journal that during that drive, Spurlock's mother called her daughter, having expected her back at the home they shared in Richmond.

Spurlock assured her mother she'd be home in the morning.

What happened after that remains a mystery.

The three men have been interviewed by authorities, but no arrests have been made.
