Stolen Jeep Cherokee Hits Bus Shelter In Jeffrey Manor, Killing Man Sitting Inside Charges are pending against the driver and two passengers of a stolen car, after the vehicle struck and killed a man waiting for a bus Sunday morning in the Jeffrey Manor neighborhood. Michael Jordan, 27, was sitting inside the CTA bus shelter at the corner of 99th and Van Vlissingen around 11:40 a.m. Sunday, when a white 2016 Jeep Cherokee fleeing from police obliterated the bus shelter. Jordan was killed in the collision. “This is going to sadden this neighborhood, especially because we know this man,” Darryl Edwards said. “It’s a close-knit neighborhood. Nine times out of ten, people know him.

MILFORD — Six juveniles between the ages of 13 to 15 years old were taken into custody after a foot chase following a traffic stop.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, police stopped a car with six teens in it. The juveniles fled the scene on foot through backyards of the Innsbruck Street area. Milford police established a perimeter and were able to track down the juveniles with the help of MPD K9 Diesel.

Police said the vehicle was stolen. Towns around the state have seen a number of unlocked cars stolen during the overnight hours.

Milford Police Department urges residents to remember to lock their doors and remove valuables from their cars.

Federal charges filed against Tampa father accused of fleeing with son to Lebanon TAMPA — A Tampa father accused of kidnapping his son and taking him to Lebanon now faces federal charges. Ali Hussein Salamey, 37, is charged with international parental kidnapping and could face up to three years in prison, federal prosecutors announced Friday. Authorities took Salamey into custody on June 21, nearly a year after he is accused of fleeing to Lebanon with his son Dexter, now 4. Dexter and his mom, Rachelle Smith, were reunited and returned to Tampa on June 21. Salamey, who has dual citizenship in the U.S.

The six juveniles involved are from the Hamden and New Haven area.

Van stolen, 1 in custody after fleeing from police in low-speed chase.
CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. - One person was arrested and another stole an Enterprise rental van after being chased by police. According to the Kent County Sheriff's Office, a deputy saw a stolen vehicle during a license plate check near 28th Street and Patterson Avenue SE. The deputy did not initiate a traffic stop but waited for backup to arrive. The suspect vehicle went to the intersection of Burton and East Paris Avenue SE and was stopped at a traffic signal, blocked by other traffic. Kentwood Police arrived in the area and held up traffic at the light in an effort to take the suspects into custody and avoid a potential pursuit.
