‘Am I Dead?’ Driver Asks Himself After Crashing Into Tire Store in Northridge Authorities are investigating what caused a multivehicle collision in Northridge Monday night, which prompted one driver to lose control and crash through the wall of a local business. The incident occurred about 11:15 p.m. on Balboa Boulevard near Devonshire Street. Video from the scene showed a black Toyota completely inside an America’s Tire store after it crashed through a glass wall. The driver, who did not want to be identified, said his first thought after the crash was, “Am I dead?” Debris from the wall could be seen on the street and inside the store.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Authorities released the name of the driver that crashed into a busy North Minneapolis bus stop Tuesday morning. According to a report, 83-year-old George Reeves Jensen was driving a van on West Broadway Avenue when he struck a bus shelter, injuring six people.

Witnesses confirmed Jensen was heading south on Lyndale Avenue when he struck the mirror of a bus stopped at West Broadway to unload passengers. Jensen backed up and hit the mirror a second time before traveling around the corner and crashing into the bus shelter around 9:30 a.m.

Three people were taken to North Memorial Health with critical injuries. Two were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, and one was treated and released at the scene.

Des Moines police searching for driver who fled scene of deadly crash Des Moines police say they are searching for a driver who fled the scene of a fatal crash early Thursday. The hit-and-run happened just before 3 a.m. near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Clark Street. Officers said an SUV and a car collided at the intersection. The driver of the car was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries and later died. The driver of the SUV, who has not yet been identified, ran away before emergency crews arrived at the scene. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family members. The crash forced the intersection to be closed for about two hours Thursday morning.

Jensen initially was taken into custody but was released pending further investigation. Metro Transit Police are investigating the incident.
