Virginia Beach man pleads guilty to threatening Sen. Mark Warner A Virginia Beach man has pleaded guilty to threatening to assault U.S. Senator Mark Warner in several voicemail messages, according to federal documents. Anthony Butkiewicz III admitted to leaving 10 voicemails at Warner's Richmond office on January 10, some of which included threats to assault the Virginia Democrat. According to court documents, Butkiewicz said in the messages that he disagreed with Warner on numerous policy issues, including military funding, America's involvement in overseas conflicts, the southern border, and abortion. He also called Warner's Norfolk office on February 13.

Virginia Beach Fire Department investigators charged a 69-year-old woman with threatening to blow-up a Virginia Beach convenience store.

On July 7, fire investigators responded to a reported bomb threat at Speedway Convenience Store in the 4400 block of Princess Anne Road.

Investigators identified Carolyn Cagnolatti Ghavam of Chesapeake as the person who threatened to blow up the business, officials said.

Ghavam was arrested in Suffolk on July 9.

Virginia Beach fire officials said threatening to bomb or damage buildings or means of transportation is a felony in Virginia.
