Police: Middletown man dead after argument over fireworks One person is dead after an argument over fireworks turned violent in Middletown. Middletown police responded to the 2100 block of Arlington Avenue just after 10:30 Friday night after receiving a call that a person had been stabbed. Officers found that Carlton Brock, 41, of Hamilton, had been stabbed in the alley behind Arlington Avenue. Brock was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to police, Kenneth Roesch, 36, had been setting off fireworks near the rear of his home on Arlington Avenue when he was confronted by Brock, who was upset by the fireworks.

A man fatally shot his stepfather during an argument at a DeLand apartment Saturday night, police said.

Police are investigating what led to that argument and the circumstances that ended in gunfire that killed a 60-year-old man, said DeLand police Lt. Juan Millan.

"We understand that there was an argument and that the victim got shot," Millan said.

Officers responded shortly before 11 p.m. to 430 S. Parsons Ave where they found the man in one of the apartments, authorities said.

The stepson fled the scene after a shooting and Millan said Sunday morning that he wasn't aware if an arrest had been made.
