Police received a call about 10:40 a.m. that a sport utility vehicle had been stolen from the 400 block of Pickwell, according to SAPD spokesman Douglas Greene. Within minutes, officers were able to gather information that the vehicle might be on the South Side of San Antonio. ALSO

The man, who hasn’t been identified, is the ninth person to have been found dead in separate incidents throughout the San Antonio area in July alone.

Deputies said the body was on the side of the road and was noticeable to passersby. The man appeared to have trauma to his head, but it is unknown what caused it, the sheriff said.

“We’re still trying to determine if that was the result of criminal activity or if he was struck by a car,” Salazar said Monday.

Salazar also said it was too early to tell if it was a crime or an accident. Investigators are also looking into security cameras at the surrounding homes that might have captured the incident.

It would be more than two hours before Kenneth B. Howard called police and told them he had killed the woman, according to details provided by a Harris County prosecutor at a probable cause hearing for the 61-year-old Houston man who was charged with murder.

In another case, a woman was found deceased in a home Sunday in the 5200 block of Stonybrook Drive, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed. Details from the San Antonio police were not immediately available in the case Monday night.

On Friday, the skeletal remains of Andreen McDonald, missing since Feb. 28, were found Friday in a field in the 600 block of Specht Road.

The area where her body was found is about 9 miles away from where the man was found Monday, on the other side of U.S. 281.

Deputies arrested her husband, Air Force Reserve Maj. Andre McDonald, and charged him with murder. She appeared to have been covered by wood and some bones from a dead cow, then set on fire.

State police identify woman found dead inside Augusta apartment

State police identify woman found dead inside Augusta apartment Maine State Police have identified the woman whose body was found inside an Augusta apartment on Tuesday. Investigators say it was likely the body of Joan Hadley that was found at 37 Water Street Tuesday morning. Police said Hadley, 54, likely died within the last two weeks, and there were no obvious signs of foul play in her death. Police said Hadley had received permission by the tenant to stay at the apartment. The tenant had been staying elsewhere, police said. Hadley was originally from Windsor but had recently been a transient who stayed in the Augusta area, police said. The body was taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy to determine her cause of death.

Salazar said Ramirez, 33, had a heart condition, and it might be possible he went into cardiac arrest somewhere near Loop 1604 and Pleasanton Road.

Ramirez was left under a tree, deputies said, but his body has not been discovered as of Monday, nor were there any new updates in the case.

The San Antonio Police Department is also investigating the discovery of a set of human remains and a body July 10 in Tobin Park. Those remains have not been identified as of Monday.
