Milford Police: 6 juveniles taken into custody after stealing a car and fleeing the scene
MILFORD — Six juveniles between the ages of 13 to 15 years old were taken into custody after a foot chase following a traffic stop. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, police stopped a car with six teens in it. The juveniles fled the scene on foot through backyards of the Innsbruck Street area. Milford police established a perimeter and were able to track down the juveniles with the help of MPD K9 Diesel. Police said the vehicle was stolen. Towns around the state have seen a number of unlocked cars stolen during the overnight hours. Milford Police Department urges residents to remember to lock their doors and remove valuables from their cars.
CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. - One person was arrested and another stole an Enterprise rental van after being chased by police.
According to the Kent County Sheriff's Office, a deputy saw a stolen vehicle during a license plate check near 28th Street and Patterson Avenue SE. The deputy did not initiate a traffic stop but waited for backup to arrive.
The suspect vehicle went to the intersection of Burton and East Paris Avenue SE and was stopped at a traffic signal, blocked by other traffic. Kentwood Police arrived in the area and held up traffic at the light in an effort to take the suspects into custody and avoid a potential pursuit. However, the suspects jumped the curb and turned northbound on East Paris from Burton where they continued at, what the department described as "low speed."
Stokesdale man arrested after leading authorities on chase in Randolph County; suspect ingested drugs during pursuit
Lester Pinehill Stone RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A Stokesdale man was arrested Sunday after leading authorities on a chase. At about 6:30 p.m., Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Patrol responded to the intersection of Bell Simmons Road and Southmont Drive in reference to a call about reported possible drug activity in the area. A deputy observed the reported black SUV sitting in a driveway, pull out of the driveway, and go towards Bell Simmons. The deputy followed and observed multiple traffic violations. The deputy stopped the vehicle just prior to the intersection of Bell Simmons and U.S. Hwy. 220 Bus. The vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the roadway.
While the vehicle was still moving, the suspects attempted to jump from the vehicle, but it struck a pole and both people were ejected. They fled on foot after the crash and one suspect was arrested.
The second suspect is believed to have stolen an Enterprise rental van from a nearby parking lot. The van is still outstanding and is described as a white full-size cargo van being driven by a black male, possibly with dread locks, wearing a white shirt and red shoes.
The Grand Rapids Police Department is handling the stolen vehicle report and the incident remains under investigation.
