Sheriff: Homicide suspect shoots self dead during police pursuit A man shot himself dead during a police pursuit in Butler County Monday night, officials said. Authorities said he is believed to be a suspect in a homicide earlier that evening, and are calling the incident an apparent murder suicide. Mathew Ferris was pronounced dead Monday night following a police pursuit, according to officials with the Butler County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said they believe Ferris shot and killed a man around 7 p.m. in the 900 block of Millville Avenue in Hamilton. That man's name has not been released. Authorities said Ferris fled from the home in a vehicle. Officials said the vehicle description was broadcast to authorities across the county.

TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) — Baltimore County police charged 26-year-old Deonte James Griffin with the murder of Jeremiah David Koch at a Comfort Inn in Towson.

Griffin of Randallstown was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and use of a firearm to commit a crime of violence.

He is being held at the Baltimore County Department of Corrections, pending a bail review hearing today at 1:00 p.m.

Koch, 30 of Pennslyvania, was called into a hotel room at the Comfort Inn on Loch Raven Boulevard to calm down the suspect who was allegedly agitated.

Police Make Arrest In Towson Comfort Inn Homicide, Identify Victim

Griffin allegedly pulled a gun. Another man fled from the room before hearing shots fired.

When police arrived they found Koch dead inside the room from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his upper body. Detectives are still awaiting results of an autopsy performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to confirm the cause and manner of death.

Officials say in June, the Chicago Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Conny L. Miles, Jr., 33, after he was charged in two 2007 shooting deaths. The Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force, a multi-agency team of law enforcement officers tasked with locating and arresting violent fugitives in the Southern District of Iowa, arrested Miles in Clive Thursday afternoon. According to a news release, just before 1:00 pm on Thursday, SIFTF investigators located Miles driving near his suspected residence.
