Dog euthanized after SFPD officer shoots dog that 'advanced' toward him in downtown San Francisco A dog was euthanized Wednesday afternoon after a San Francisco police officer shot the animal when he said the dog "advanced" on him near a shopping area popular with tourists, police said. About 3:45 p.m., officers say they were approached by a dog on Cyril Magnin Street, near Market Street. The dog then apparently advanced on one officer, who shot the canine once, according to an official SFPD statement. By 4 p.m., at least four police cars had blocked off a lane of Cyril Magnin Street. A large police presence surrounded the bus stop at the intersection, which was cordoned off with police tape.

The police shot a man during a chase and gun battle in the Bronx on Wednesday night that rattled the University Heights neighborhood and left the gunman, a female bystander and a 12-year-old girl injured.

The double shooting happened at about 9:30 p.m. 27th Street and Kilbourn Avenue.

A 60-year-old woman was killed, and a 58-year-old man was seriously wounded.

Surveillance video shows three men walking down the sidewalk and stopping to speak with a group of people who were around a car.

Moments later, muzzle flashes can be seen as numerous shots were fired between the car and the sidewalk.

According to police, two men were sitting in a car when unknown suspects started shooting at them. A 26-year-old man inside of the car was shot multiple times. Police said he died at the scene. Investigators said a second victim, a 21-year-old man, ran to a relative's house for help after being shot. Police said his injury is serious, but not life-threatening. The investigation is on-going. The names of the victims have not yet been released. Police have not made any arrests.

The three men then ran away. It appeared that at least five shots were fired and at least one of them was from the area near the car. Multiple shots appeared to come from the group on the sidewalk.

Homicide detectives are studying the surveillance video. The two people who were shot are considered innocent bystanders.

Police told WISN 12 News they arrested a 46-year-old man, but their investigation is ongoing.

Police said the man who was shot took himself to the hospital. Police said they found the dead woman at the scene.

The motive is still unclear.

According to Los Angeles County Fire, the fire department was called to the 1700 block of West Avenue J15 around 5:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting. Before fire crews arrived, they were canceled by sheriffs who alerted them that the victim, who has not been identified, had been taken to a hospital by her uncle.
