CrimeMan arrested in connection with fatal shooting of 74-year-old woman

More than four months after a 74-year-old woman was shot and killed in Mattapan, Boston police said they have arrested a suspect connected to the case.

Officials said police arrested 23-year-old Dane Henry, of Roxbury, on Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of Eleanor Maloney.

Henry has been charged with manslaughter, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Dorchester District Court.

A woman was arrested early Tuesday morning, a day after she shot a man in the chest in Hialeah, killing him, authorities confirmed. She was arrested early Tuesday on a second-degree murder charge and is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.

Maloney, a grandmother who was originally from Barbados, was shot and killed in an April 6 triple-shooting near her Mattapan home. Two men at the scene with gunshot sounds suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Friends of Maloney said she was a recent retiree from Boston Medical Center, where she worked as an operating room technician for 40 years.

One of the two men allegedly involved in the April 6 shootout was the victim's grandson, 37-year-old Anthony Davis.

Two days after Maloney was killed, Davis was charged with illegal gun possession and being an armed career criminal.

The Boston Globe reported Davis pleaded not guilty at his hospital room and was ordered held on $50,000 cash bail.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office said Davis was acquitted of murder in 2005, sentenced to three years in prison in a 2009 gun case and was sentenced to six years in prison in a 2013 gun case.
