Missing 4-Year-Old Boy Found Dead In Baltimore Dumpster, Mother Charged Baltimore City Police at a press conference today announced 4-year-old Malachi Lawson has been found dead. © Provided by CBS Local, a division of CBS Radio Inc Police say the mother of the child admitted to investigators last night that her child was not missing but was dead.   She also told police where they could find is remains which were later located in a dumpster. The boy’s mother and her partner have charged with the death of the little boy.

A teenager was shot and killed late Friday in an east Charlotte apartment community, and police charged another teen with murder. The homicide was Charlotte’s 70th of the year.

Police said 19-year-old Sebastian Acosta-Bayona was shot outside an apartment in the 3200 block of Amity Pointe Road, near North Sharon Amity Road and East W.T. Harris Boulevard.

The 17-year-old suspect, Juan Alberto Lopez-Garcia of Charlotte, was jailed at 3 a.m. Saturday on a murder warrant, jail records show.

Police responded to the Amity Pointe apartments after a caller reported an assault with a deadly weapon about 8:40 p.m., according to a Charlotte-Mecklnburg Police Department news release. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police did not say what led them to Lopez-Garcia as a suspect. Mecklenburg County jail records show he was arrested in April on charges with assault by pointing a gun, discharging a weapon on occupied property/moving vehicle, and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. The charges are pending, court records show..

Friday’s homicide was the fourth in three days.

Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, police found 34-year-old Antonio Kirkpatrick of Charlotte dead of a gunshot wound at a business complex in the 1500 block of West Boulevard.

Randleman teen charged after victim says he was cut by machete, chased through woods, deputies say RANDLEMAN, N.C. -- A teen is charged with assault with a deadly weapon after a victim said he was cut with a machete and chased through the woods, according to a Randolph County Sheriff's Office news release. Deputies responded to the Torch Drive area of Randleman after they got a call about an assault Sunday. The caller claimed to have been chased through the woods by a person armed with a machete. When deputies arrived, they say they saw a victim covered in blood and sitting in the driveway just a short distance from the woods. Three large wounds were visible.

The shooting “didn’t appear to be random,” and Kirkpatrick may have known the shooter, police told the Observer’s news partner, WBTV.

Early Thursday, 16-year-old robbery suspect Qwanterrius Stafford was fatally shot by a customer at a 7-Eleven on Brookshire Boulevard, police said.

On Thursday night, police found 23-year-old Samuel Harrison Stitt with a gunshot wound in an apartment in the 1400 block of Ventura Way Drive, near Interstate 85 in north Charlotte.

1 man dead after violent night in DC, homicide count up from 2018.
DC police are investigating three separate shootings Monday night, including one fatal. The first shooting happened around 8:25 pm. Members of the Seventh District responded to the 2400 block of Elvans Road, Southeast, for the report of a shooting. When they got there, they found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. After all lifesaving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as 20 year-old Devin Dwayne Smith, of Southeast, DC.
