Driverless cars are coming to New York on Wednesday Optimus Ride, self-driving tech company is launching a fleet of six cars at Brooklyn's Navy Yard on Wednesday in a push to bring autonomous vehicles to New York state.

A New York man was killed when he was hit by a car and then run over by another on a Paramus highway Saturday, authorities said.

At 8:57 p.m. Saturday, officers arrived at the scene of a serious crash and found Ryan O'Keefe, 36, on Route 4, between Forest Avenue and Kinderkamack Road, Deputy Chief Robert Guidetti said in a statement.

Officers immediately tried to revive O'Keefe before he was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center. He was pronounced dead shortly after.

O'Keefe had been crossing south on Route 4 west and was first hit by a 2013 Subaru in the center lane of the highway, according to the statement. After being struck by the Subaru, O'Keefe was then run over by a 2007 Chrysler, the statement said.

As of Monday morning, no summons have been issued for the fatal strike. Paramus Police continue to investigate.

O'Keefe, of Wappingers Falls, graduated from John Jay High School in 2001, according to an obituary. A lifelong resident of the Poughkeepsie area, O'Keefe was an outdoorsman and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and bike, the obituary said. He's survived by his mother and stepfather, along with his sister and other relatives.

Police: Teen Killed In Crash Didn't Yield To Oncoming Semi-Truck.
A teenager was killed and another was injured when their vehicle apparently pulled in front of oncoming traffic was struck by a semi-truck in Monroe County. The accident happened around 1:35 p.m. Monday at the intersection of South Dixie Highway and Albain Road in Monroe Township. According to police, 19-year-old Zachary Zinner of Newport was traveling eastbound on Albain when he entered the intersection without yielding to oncoming traffic and was struck by a semi-truck that was traveling southbound on Dixie. Zinner was pronounced dead at the scene. An 18-year-old woman in his vehicle received non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
