Lake County deputy indicted in 2016 shooting of unarmed woman A Lake County sheriff’s deputy has been indicted on civil rights charges in the 2016 shooting of an unarmed woman, federal prosecutors said. Richard Palmer, 58, was indicted Wednesday on charges that he used unreasonable force by shooting an unarmed woman and misleading state investigators about the circumstances of his actions, Department of Justice officials said. According to the indictment, on Oct. 11, 2016, Palmer shot a woman whose hands were visible and empty.

A woman died and a man was wounded when they were shot while sitting in a car outside a Big Lots store in Chino on Thursday, authorities said. Paramedics pronounced the wounded woman dead at the scene, officials said. The wounded man arrived at a hospital soon after.

The shooting occurred in the 3600 block of West Hazard Avenue around 11:45 p. m . Sunday. The young man died at the hospital shortly after midnight Santa Ana police collect evidence Monday as they investigate a drive-by shooting that left a 16-year-old boy dead in Santa Ana on Sunday.

Authorities are searching for a man wanted for questioning in the shooting deaths of his stepmother and her son.

Pennsylvania State Police said Jack Elijah Turner, 21, of Cochranton, Crawford County, is a person of interest in the slayings of his 49-year-old stepmother and her 10-year-old son Saturday in the Guys Mills area of Crawford County. He has not been charged.

Turner was last seen on Tuesday in St. Augustine, Fla., but authorities there no longer believe he is in the area.

He is a white man with dark brown hair, brown eyes, 5-foot-10 weighing about 145 pounds. He has a tattoo covering his right hand, and wears diamond stud earrings in both ears. He is believed to be driving the victim's 2009 silver Lincoln MKS sedan, PA registration KXW 5126.

According to Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson, investigators have obtained warrants for Louis Stinson Jr.'s arrest for assault first degree domestic violence and robbery first degree. Stinson is the suspect in the shooting of a 51-year-old woman and her 21 -year-old son during a domestic dispute.

Police are searching for a cyclist who fled the scene after hitting a 60-year-old pedestrian who stepped into a bike lane last week, a collision that later led to the man's death The pedestrian, Michael Collopy, was hit by the cyclist on July 31 while walking in a bike lane on 6th Avenue near 23rd Street in Chelsea. The cyclist fled the scene, and Collopy was transported to Bellevue Hospital for treatment and succumbed to a head injury days later, on Aug. 5. NY Daily News reported that an autopsy performed Wednesday determined that his cause of death was a collision.
