A federal judge on Friday sentenced the 58-year-old Kissimmee man who threatened to kill Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders “ISIS-style” to 15 months in prison.
Robert Pratersch called Sanders’ office in Vermont and left three voice messages, including one that said he would “behead” Sanders. Pratersch also sent the senator a video of an execution, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.
The profanity-laced messages also directed anti-Semitic remarks at Sanders, who is Jewish.
Pratersch was convicted in April of threatening a federal official and interstate transmission of a threat to injure.
