A homeless man died from injuries he suffered in a hit-and-run in Somerville early Sunday.
The victim, Kevin Demont, was struck at 3 a.m. at the intersection of Mystic Avenue, also known as Route 38, and Shore Drive.
Police said a driver who was not involved in the crash found the 69-year-old victim but did not see the crash happen.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the crash happened within the area of a marked crosswalk, police said.
Demont was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he died Monday, according to State Police.

State police are leading the investigation and have not yet released a description of the driver or the suspect vehicle.
