Court documents in the case show officers were dispatched to 59th Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard in Raytown to investigate a physical disturbance.

When they arrived, they saw a woman on the ground bleeding from her face. She told police as she was leaving her home in Kansas City, a vehicle driven by her teenage neighbor almost struck her vehicle.

The victim said this incident was part of a 2-year neighbor dispute between their two families. She said she was traveling west on East 59th Street when the teen nearly struck her vehicle. The woman said she got out of her car and started yelling at the teen, and that’s when she was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground by a man later identified by prosecutors as 52-year-old Pleaze Robinson.

The teen told officers that she had left her home around 7 a.m. and noticed her female neighbor, the victim, driving slowly down the road. The teen said she decided to pass her neighbor’s vehicle on the left side of the road. The teen said as she sped up, the neighbor followed her into Raytown.

When the two drivers reached the intersection of 59th and Blue Ridge, the teen said her neighbor got out of her car and approached the passenger side of the teen’s vehicle and appeared to grab for the teen’s backpack in the front seat.

The teen told police she reached across the front seat to hold onto her bag. Court documents stated the teen told police the victim struck her on the face, however no marks or bruises were noted.

The teen said after she was struck, her dad, Pleaze Robinson, showed up and pulled the neighbor away from her vehicle.

Another witness said when Robinson pulled the woman away from his daughter’s vehicle, that he “body slammed” the woman onto the pavement, then proceeded to sit on her back and strike her “at least 30 times.”

The victim was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries to her face.

Police said in his efforts to get to his daughter and the confrontation involving the neighbor, he struck another vehicle near 59th Street and Hedges in Raytown and fled.

Robinson has been booked into jail on $25,000 bond.
