Oklahoma man gets life in prison for child pornography OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A judge has sentenced an Oklahoma workman to life in prison for hiding cameras in homes to capture images of girls. Ryan Aaron Alden pleaded guilty in June to 28 felonies, including creating child pornography and possession of obscene material of minors. Oklahoma County District Judge Amy Palumbo said during sentencing Wednesday that she would have ordered Alden castrated if the law allowed. The 39-year-old was also sentenced to nearly 150 years in prison. Prosecutors say Alden hid cameras in the bedrooms, bathrooms and closets of four Oklahoma homes where he did electrical work.

A Florida police officer was arrested by the FBI Thursday on charges of possessing child pornography . The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported that Albala is accused of purchasing child pornography via the microblogging website Tumblr in September and October of last year.

Port St. Lucie Officer Michael Harding was arrested Tuesday evening after Homeland Security investigators found child pornography on his Kik messenger app. As it turns out, the 27-year-old married father of three, had posted the child porn while inside his police cruiser – while on patrol.

Gabriel Albala, 45, of Margate, Fla. was ordered held without bond following an appearance in Fort Lauderdale federal court Friday..

The FBI interviewed Albala on Thursday morning before arresting him in the afternoon, according to FBI Miami.

Boynton Beach Chief of Police, Michael G. Gregory said in a statement that Albala had been relieved of duty following his arrest.

"This morning, agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation interviewed a Boynton Beach Police Officer in regard to an ongoing federal investigation," Gregory said. "This afternoon, the officer was taken into federal custody and relieved of duty ... While this investigation has drawn scrutiny of this particular officer's conduct, it is not reflective of all the women and men who serve this community."

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported that Albala is accused of purchasing child pornography via the microblogging website Tumblr in September and October of last year. The transactions, which were done over Venmo, were described as innocuous purchases, such as "Textbook" and "Tutor."

The paper reported that Albala's next court appearance is set for Sept 4 and his arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 13.
