EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives are investigating the circumstances Sunday surrounding a deputy involved shooting with two male suspects who were both fatally wounded. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident was set off by a fake gun.

COMMERCE (CBSLA) – Two men have been arrested after a deputy-involved shooting turned into a wild pursuit in East Los Angeles early Monday morning which ended in a crash on the 710 Freeway.

The incident began just after 2 a.m., L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of vandalism in the 1400 block of South Sydney Drive in Commerce.

When they arrived on scene, one of the suspects struck a deputy with their car, which prompted deputies to open fire. None of the suspects were hit by the gunfire.

One of the male suspects was identified and taken into custody. Police also towed one vehicle from the scene. Police say they later learned that the owner of the suspect vehicle had arrived at an E. 38th Street home without the car.

EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were seriously wounded and a suspect was killed in a gun The two responding deputies spotted a vehicle with the three suspects and began to follow it, the sheriff’s department reports, leading to a slow-speed chase .

The suspects lead sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol officers on a pursuit which traversed several freeways. The suspects eventually lost control on the northbound 710 Freeway and crashed into a center divider, just north of Imperial Highway.

Two men were taken into custody on the freeway. It’s unclear if they were hurt in the crash.

The deputy who was struck by the car was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The CHP issued Sig Alerts for several lanes of the northbound 710 Freeway just north of Imperial Highway for the crash investigation, as well as for the southbound 5 Freeway at Paramount Boulevard so deputies could search for a gun they believe the suspects may have thrown out of their car during the pursuit. On ramps at Slauson Avenue and Paramount and Lakewood boulevards were also shut down.

It’s unclear if the suspects fired on deputies during the pursuit.

EAST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - The Windham state's attorney identified the officers involved in a police shooting that left a school psychologist dead in East Hartford last week. Officers Andre Lyew and Daniel Zaleski were named as the officers who shot and killed a man while responding to a domestic violence call, according to Windham State's Attorney Anne F. Mahoney. It happened at a couple's home on Skyline Drive in East Hartford on Sept. 5. The man killed was identified as John J. Carras, of East Hartford. Police said the woman involved was so violently attacked by her husband that she required hospitalization with life-threatening injuries.
