Man dies from injuries suffered in Somerville hit-and-run A homeless man died from injuries he suffered in a hit-and-run in Somerville early Sunday. The victim, Kevin Demont, was struck at 3 a.m. at the intersection of Mystic Avenue, also known as Route 38, and Shore Drive. Police said a driver who was not involved in the crash found the 69-year-old victim but did not see the crash happen. Preliminary investigation indicates that the crash happened within the area of a marked crosswalk, police said. Demont was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he died Monday, according to State Police. State police are leading the investigation and have not yet released a description of the driver or the suspect vehicle.

A man found stabbed in East Boston late Tuesday night has died.

The victim was located at 11:30 p.m. in the middle of West Eagle Street near the intersection of Meridian Street.

“I came out, as well as my neighbor, was rounding the corner, and we were able to hold him down and put towels down over his wounds. He was stabbed multiple times in the back,” witness Bryan Ennis said.

Police said the man in his 20s was stabbed several times. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he later died of his wounds.

The driver took off and has not been found. Demont, who was homeless according to police, was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries. He died Monday. A man has died after being stabbed in east London. The victim was found with stab wounds on Kingsland Road, Hackney, at 06:29 GMT by police. Believed to be in his mid-twenties, the victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died a few hours later. His next of kin have been informed.

Neighbors said they heard commotion in the area.

“It didn't seem like the normal type of, like, arguments. It was more, like, people kind of, like, fighting,” neighbor Luis Santos said.

“I heard tires squeal and somebody peel out,” Ennis said.

The call first came in for a pedestrian struck, but police realized the victim wasn't hit by a car but stabbed several times.

Ennis and his neighbors tried to comfort the young man after calling 911. They said they saw an erratic driver.

“My neighbors had seen a white Mustang with a couple young men up the street, and as they were coming around the park, it was going the wrong way up West Eagle Street and literally cut them off,” Ennis said.

The victim has not been identified.

One of 2 pedestrians struck in Boston dies, police say.
One of the two pedestrians struck Wednesday night in South Boston has died, according to Boston police. Police said the crash happened night near the intersection of Summer and Melcher streets. The victims were taken to the hospital, where a woman was later pronounced dead. The other victim, a man who is about 20 to 30 years old, is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries. A section of Summer Street was closed as police investigate the scene of the crash. Video shows a white van behind the police tape on Summer Street. A witness told John Atwater, of NewsCenter 5, that the victims appeared to be in a crosswalk when they were struck just before 9 p.m.
