Baltimore County police are searching for a missing woman, saying they suspect foul play.

Police Chief Melissa Hyatt said investigators believe foul play might be involved in the disappearance of Charla Melvin, 50, who was last seen Saturday evening in the 3700 block of Twin Lakes Court in the Milford Mill area.

"There is enough that has come up in the investigation that we are concerned there has been foul play. In an abundance of caution and to get help from the community ... we really want to get the community involved. We're really requesting as much help as possible," Hyatt said. "We just want to bring her home."

Col. Robert McCullough described Melvin as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds and she has a rose tattoo. McCullough said Melvin has some minor health issues.

She might be driving a black 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe with Maryland license plates 3CR7429 that was last seen in Baltimore City.

"We have all of our resources, including our Regional Auto Theft Task Force, our carjacking team and aviation out looking for both her and her vehicle," McCullough said.

Melvin's family made a plea to the public seeking help.

"This is very unusual for her," Melvin's cousin, Dena Fisher, said.
