Fall River mayor arrested, accused of extorting money from pot companies Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia II was arrested early Friday morning at his home in the city. Correia is accused of conspiring to extort hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes from marijuana companies. Genoveva Andrade, Correia's former chief of staff, was arrested on extortion and bribery charges. She was taken into custody in Boston, according to the FBI. Correia was charged last year with nine counts of wire fraud and four counts of tax fraud after he was accused of defrauding investors. Correia, 27, is accused of using $231,447 of the $363,690 invested by seven people in his now-defunct smartphone app company SnoOwl.

Sando Semedo, who captured the fight on video, said 20 to 30 bikers streamed out of the restaurant just after 10 p.m. Friday.

"A bunch of guys brawling and people getting hit with their helmets and everything," Semedo said. "Like, just helmets being thrown back and forth. Then, next thing you know, everybody just takes off and there's just one guy laying there. He was slowly choking on his blood and just dying over there."

Officials said police responded to 1050 Bedford St., the address of JC's Cafe, at around 10:15 p.m. for a report of a shooting with multiple victims.

Police said that upon arrival they found a seriously wounded 39-year-old man, who was rushed to Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was later transferred to Rhode Island Hospital, where officials said he died Saturday morning.
