Palm Bay detectives said 39-year-old Theresa Fowler — who was attempting to protect her brother — had been arguing with Betty Jo Fowler on July 26, 2010, after spotting her flirting with the DJ at the American Legion.

A husband and wife were shot to death Wednesday morning outside their home in the Fallbrook area, just as they returned from a hospital where the woman's mother had died, authorities said. The couple's son-in-law was also struck in the shooting that erupted about 1:30 a.m. at the 1100 block of Francitas Drive near Pleasanton Drive, in north Harris County. He was in surgery Wednesday morning. Investigators believe the couple, who were in their 60s, was returning home from the hospital after the wife's mother died just hours before. The two were in separate vehicles -- the wife was with another female relative and the husband was driving in a small truck.
