Report: LMPD officer smells marijuana in vehicle, finds murder suspect A man wanted for murder in another state was arrested in Louisville. According to an arrest report, it started with the smell of marijuana coming from a vehicle. Police said Kelton Moore, 34, was the passenger in a vehicle that was omitting a strong odor Tuesday in west Louisville. Officers searched the vehicle and found a handgun. The Louisville man admitted to police he had it for four weeks and had purchased it on the streets of Louisville, the report said. It turns out Moore was wanted for a murder in Arkansas, and had two warrants out for him in Kentucky, police said. Moore was then arrested in the area of 28th and Chestnut streets.

The victim was unconscious when they pulled him out. Emergency crews performed CPR on the man, believed to be 40 to 50 years old.

He was rushed by ambulance to an area hospital but he later died.

A witness said the man was underwater for about 20 minutes.

HCSO initially said there are other people rescued from the van but later said they weren't sure. The dive team continued searching that area for hours but saw no signs of life, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

This is the first death related to Tropical Depression Imelda in the Houston area.
