DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Police in Dallas are investigating after a transgender woman was shot multiple times late Friday night.

Detectives say a Latin man pulled up next to the woman and yelled "a number of slurs about her gender identity." They say he then fired off several rounds, hitting her in the chest and arm.

Police are investigating it as a hate crime.

They've released photos of the man's truck, a red, four-door, late model Chevy (see Dallas Police video below)

It's the latest in a string of assaults against transgender people in Dallas.

In June, Chynal Lindsey's body was found in White Rock Lake. A month earlier, Muhlaysia Booker was shot to death near Tenison Park Golf Course.

Police have made arrests in both cases.
