  Man flees from stolen car, hits trooper in face and tries to grab officer's gun, police say A man who fled from a stolen vehicle in Boston early Tuesday is accused of assaulting a Massachusetts State Police trooper and trying to grab his gun. Police said troopers tried to stop a stolen Honda Civic on St. Alphonsus Street. The driver, later identified as Luis Llanson, 36, of Roxbury, refused to stop and led officers on a chase. Llanso bailed out of the stolen motor vehicle on McGreevey Way and tried to flee on foot, police said. Troopers pursued on foot and apprehended the man after a brief foot chase.

Former state trooper Rene Algara was arrested Saturday after an FBI investigation resulted in charges of money laundering and falsifying government documents, according to an Arizona Department of Public Safety news release.

Algara was arrested on 21 felony charges related to money laundering and five felony charges related to falsifying government documents, the news release stated. Algara's  employment was terminated prior to his arrest. 

He was arrested by FBI agents in coordination with DPS.

Algara started working with DPS in February 2016 and was assigned to the Highway Patrol Division in Cochise County.

The FBI investigation remains active, the release stated.
