Murder trial begins for real estate heiress accused of killing blue-collar boyfriend
Opening arguments were scheduled Monday in the trial of a Chinese real estate heiress who posted $35-million bail after being charged with murder in the 2016 killing of her children's father. Prosecutors say Tiffany Li orchestrated the killing of Keith Green, 27, when she fell for another man and feared she would lose custody of her children. Li's new boyfriend, Kaveh Bayat, also is charged in the slaying.

Zainea in her closing argument urged the judge to believe the confessions Fournier allegedly made to his pastor and his parents in 1981 and to DeRoche eight years later. Silverstein argued in his closing that the prosecution did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Fournier was guilty of murder .
Closing arguments in F Daly’s murder trial were heard in Bangor Monday morning, Sept. 30. Daly is on trial for the murder of 51-year-old Israel Lewis who was shot twice in his apartment on Second Street in Bangor on January 7, 2018.
During closing arguments, the state detailed Daly’s phone records the night of Lewis’ death. Daly called a mutual friend named Monica three times in a row. The last call lasted one minute and Daly asked where Lewis lived, according to the state prosecutor Lisa Bogue.
Bogue also said in her closing arguments that Daly’s girlfriend, Kayla Preston went to the Bangor Police after an argument where Daly threatened her. Bogue said that argument happened on the night of January 26, 2018 and Preston went to police on January 27, 2018.
Trial underway for the murder of 51-year-old Bangor man
The trial of F Daly who is charged with the 2018 murder of Isreal Lewis on Second Street in Bangor began Tuesday in Penobscot County Superior Court. Daly was arrested on January 27, 2018, twenty days after Lewis, 51, was shot and killed in an apartment on 40 Second Street. Opening statements were heard on Tuesday morning. “Israel Lewis was murdered. Israel Lewis did not die of natural causes,” State prosecutor Leane Zainea said holding up the gun she says was used in this murder.Zainea detailed to the jury the events of the case. "[Daly] said he got away with it. Kayla did not let that happen. The evidence you have should not let that happen,” Bogue said to the jury.
The defense argued that there’s no forensic or surveillance evidence connecting Daly to this crime.
“There is nothing putting Mr. Daly between 7:31 and 7:29 on Second Street. No evidence,” defense attorney, Kaylee Folster said to the jury.
Folster also argued that Preston had every opportunity to tell the police Daly was responsible for Lewis’ death but waited for twenty days after the couple had a fight.

Man facing murder charge in shooting outside Everett hookah bar
A New Hampshire man is facing charges in a shooting that took place outside an Everett hookah bar and lounge. Charles Demos, 29, of Rochester, New Hampshire is charged in the death of 42-year-old Jarrod Harris, of Everett. Harris was shot and killed early Saturday morning outside Karma Lounge. According to investigators, Harris was leaving Karma Lounge with a woman when a fight broke out between the couple and several individuals. Officials said multiple shots were fired and the victim was struck.Demas is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on a murder charge in Malden District Court.
