Fort lauderdale , fla. (WSVN) - A late-night joyride ended in tragedy for seven minors in Pompano Beach after , authorities said, the car they had stolen crashed and flipped over, killing two girls and sending the rest of the young victims to the hospital, early Sunday morning.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, the officers spotted a 2012 black Jaguar involved in a carjacking robbery in the area of West Broward Blvd. and NW 27th Avenue.

The Jaguar drove onto I-95 heading northbound with officers following behind.

The vehicle exited the highway at Atlantic Boulevard.

While pursuing the Jaguar, a Fort Lauderdale police officer was involved in a crash in the 3000 block of NW 6th Street.

  Bahamas Prime Minister says 600 people are still missing weeks after Hurricane Dorian Nearly a month after Hurricane Dorian pulverized part of the Bahamas, officials say there are still 600 people missing. Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Minnis said Friday the number of those missing has significantly dropped in the past weeks and the death toll has risen. Earlier figures released by the government indicated that about 1,300 people were unaccounted for. The official death toll across the Bahamas stands at 56, Minnis said. Dorian flattened homes after it made landfall Sept. 1, leaving thousands with no power, running water and a widespread damage similar to a war zone.

Two Milwaukee police officers were injured Wednesday night after a pursuit ended in a crash near 70th Street and Hampton Avenue.

The officer, who has not been identified, was transported by ambulance to Broward Health North with non-life threatening injuries.

The two suspects in the Jaguar were also involved in a crash with another vehicle and taken into custody.

No officers were involved in that crash.
