  Foster father charged with manslaughter in Meriden teen’s death MERIDEN — The foster father of a teen who died as a result of a crash last week has been charged with manslaughter. James Bailey was formally charged with 2nd degree manslaughter in Meriden Superior Court Tuesday morning. His case was continued to November 12.

A teenager was found guilty of two charges in the beating death of a disabled man.

Tavion Miley, 19, of Louisville, was charged with murdering and robbing of Lonnie Bard, 62.

Bard, who was in a wheelchair at the time, was severely beaten and robbed, allegedly by a group of teens. The fatal attack happened close to his West Louisville home in July 2017. The group got a pack of cigarettes and a few dollars, leaving Bard to die.

Miley was one of six teens accused of being involved. Five teens reached plea deals with prosecutors and at least some of them testified against Miley in court.

Matthew Little’s bond was paid Tuesday morning by his parents, just hours ahead of a scheduled pretrial at 1 p.m. Little has pleaded not guilty to all 15 charges against him in Jonathan’s death, including three counts of involuntary manslaughter. The case stretches back to April when a search was triggered after Jonathan was reported missing. His body was found a few days later buried in a shallow grave on a Washington Township farm. His cause of death was ruled a homicide by "acute fentanyl intoxication.

Miley was found guilty of first degree robbery and manslaughter. He was found not guilty of murder. He will be sentenced on Friday.
